HIGHLIGHTS:
2 night stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island; visit to Holland, MI during their “tulip time” festival; visit to Shipshewana, IN- 3rd largest Amish settlement in the US; visit to the World’s Largest Christmas store; visit to the Kentucky Derby Museum.
Day 1: We depart on our new motor coach. Overnight in Indianapolis, IN at Drury Inn Hotel with complimentary “kick-back” evening meal. (included)
Day 2: From Indiana we head on into Holland, MI where millions of tulips will be in bloom.
Tulip festival has been held there every spring since 1929. We will visit a tulip farm with acres & acres of tulips and where you can purchase tulip bulbs or Delft pottery or a pair of wooden shoes made in their factory. Overnight in Grand Rapids, MI.
Day 3: Driving North to overnight in St. Ignace, MI, one of America's oldest cities and Great Lakes connection to world-renowned Mackinac Island.
Days 4-5: Ferry ride to Mackinac Island where bicycles and horse-drawn carriages are the only means of transportation. Here we ride on fringe-topped horse & carriages touring the island including the Arch Rock, one of the most photographed spots. Our home for 2 nights will be The GRAND HOTEL. It’s here you will experience the Ultimate on Mackinac Island. Luxurious rooms. Exceptional service. For 2 nights enjoy a 5 course dinner of your choice (dress code required: jacket, tie, dress slacks for men / dresses or dressy pants suits for women). After dinner enjoy listening to a live band & dancing if you wish. Or simply stroll along the world’s longest porch at 660’ and enjoy the view. You will also have a grand breakfast for 2 mornings, either buffet or cooked to order. (All included)
GRAND HOTEL - Truly there is little in this world that can surpass the first breathtaking glimpse of the Grand Hotel as the carriage approaches to reveal it perched upon the bluff with its 660-foot porch. Built in 1887. There are 385 guest rooms all decorated differently.
Day 6: Enjoy the ferry ride back to the mainland and then journey on to Frankenmuth, known as Michigan’s “Little Bavaria.” Includes visit to the fantastic Bronner’s Christmas World.
Day 7: We head South with a stop at the USA’s 3rd largest Amish Community in beautiful Shipshewana, IN. Enjoy an Amish lunch, buggy ride, shop or just relax. Overnight: Indianapolis, IN @ Drury Inn with complimentary “kick-back” dinner. (included)
Day 8: It’s time to journey home but not before a visit to the Ky Derby Museum in Louisville, KY. Enjoy a guided tour of the race track, the museum and lunch in the cafe. (included)
