Celebration Tours

August TBA, 2023

This Tour is a traveler's favorite. Below is what the tour may include, all details are subject to change due travel arrangements for 2023. We will announce a final itinerary in the coming days.

Join us on this train ride from Birmingham, AL to New Orleans, LA and enjoy 2 days on the train, plus 2 full days and 3 nights in the Crescent City after arriving via the Amtrak Crescent which departs from Birmingham, AL en route to New Orleans. During our 3 night’s stay, our accommodations are at a Marriott Courtyard Hotel located in the “Heart of the French Quarter” where you can spend your free day strolling through the French Quarter as you make your way to many shops & restaurants, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square and the National WWII Museum. Local trolley service stops right there and for
40 cents a ride you can literally discover all of the Big Easy.

Day 1: Depart from BHM to NOLA @ approximately noon from the station depot.  Enjoy this leisure ride on the Crescent #19 south bound.  ETA: 7:30 pm in New Orleans.

Day:2: After breakfast, we will have a tour of the “Crescent City” - on an air conditioned motor coach. This guided “Super City Tour” (approx. 3 hrs.) will include the French Quarter, Jackson Square, Mansions along St. Charles Ave., a few of the aftermath areas of Hurricane Katrina, The French Market, St. Louis Cemetery (a stop), Morning Call Cafe (a stop where U can purchase a few famous beignets) and more.

After our Super City tour, we will board the beautiful paddlewheel STEAMBOAT “NATCHEZ” for a narrated Harbor Cruise.  During this 2 hour Mississippi River cruise, you will experience New Orleans from back in time in an atmosphere of the Old South while enjoying a creole lunch onboard (included) while listening live jazz.

Day 3: This is your FREE TIME day, all day. Feel free to sleep in late this morning, then EXPLORE the sights that peaked your interest during your City wide motor coach tour. That might include some gaming time at Harrah’s; a trolley ride along the Riverfront; shopping the newly remodeled Riverwalk Outlet Mall or the French Market; visiting the National World War II Museum or visiting any of the other attractions or eating establishments that abound in THE BIG EASY. We will provide you with a map of the city showing locations of places of interest and other information as to how you can travel from the hotel very easily & very reasonably.

Day 4: Today, our wonderful visit to New Orleans will sadly end early this morning as we depart for the Amtrak Station to ride the north bound Crescent #20. Departure time is 7:00 am - with arrival back in BHM around 2:30 pm.

New Orleans is one of the world's most fascinating cities. Steeped in a history of influences from Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond, it's home to a truly unique melting pot of culture, food and music. We think you will LEARN a lot about NOLA on this tour.
